Jennifer
Thomas, Director of Music Ministries, has been leading the music
program at Our Saviour for the past five years. In
addition to serving as organist and pianist, Jennifer leads the
Chancel Choir,
Dimensions
of Faith, the
Handbell Choir,
the Angel and Cherub Choirs, and Music Day Camp in addition to
varied vocal and instrumental ensembles throughout the church
year.
A native of New Jersey, Jennifer has been singing in church and
school choirs all her life. She is a graduate of
Oberlin
College Conservatory of Music and the
New England Conservatory of Music where she received her
undergraduate and graduate degrees in Vocal Performance and
Opera. In addition to singing, Jennifer studied piano and
vocal/instrumental accompanying at Oberlin and did extensive
accompanying in Boston. While living in Boston, Jennifer had the
joy and privilege to sing and study with composer/organist
Daniel Pinkham at King's Chapel for several years.
Jennifer has performed with several opera companies including
the Boston Lyric Opera, Lake George Opera Festival, Elysian
Opera at Lincoln Center, Portland Opera and has appeared in
concert with various orchestras, oratorio societies and chamber
ensembles throughout the northeast.
Jennifer is also part-time piano instructor at Sandhills
Community College and teaches both voice and piano privately.
She lives in Whispering Pines with her daughter Mia.
